The Apollo Municipal Theatre of Ermoupolis was built in 1864, by the Italian architect Pietro Sampo. It is placed on Miaouli square, in the centre of Ermoupoulis, and constitutes a miniature replica of La Scala di Milan. It is made of white marble and limestone and has two floors. It also has many beautiful wall paintings and wooden tiers.
Kini Beach, on the west coast, has a long, thin stretch of beach and is developing into a popular resort. Tops for eats is Allou Yialou, absolutely waterfront and with excellent fish stew and other seafood. It’s a prime sunset spot.
